City of Carencro Awards $42.7 Million Municipal Project to Southern Constructors

This $42M initiative marks one of the largest municipal projects in company and city's history.

Southern Constructors has officially been awarded the $42.7 million Post Road Wastewater Treatment Plant project for the City of Carencro — a landmark milestone and one of the largest municipal contracts in the city’s history. This transformative investment will replace the city’s aging infrastructure with a modern, high-capacity treatment facility designed to meet environmental standards, improve service reliability, and support Carencro’s rapid residential and commercial growth. As developments continue to surge — from major manufacturing investments to new subdivisions — this project ensures the community is equipped with the critical infrastructure needed to sustain long-term economic expansion. As Mayor Charlotte Clavier emphasized, “This is not just about today—it’s about positioning Carencro for the future,” underscoring the city’s commitment to long-term infrastructure resilience as population and economic development accelerate.

This new wastewater treatment plant represents a defining moment for both Southern Constructors and the future of Carencro. It reflects years of strategic growth and proven performance in civil and infrastructure construction, reinforcing our role as a trusted partner for municipalities across South Louisiana. From preconstruction planning to concrete, sitework, and final operational delivery, our team — alongside the engineering leadership of Domingue, Szabo & Associates — is committed to delivering a facility that will serve generations to come. More than a construction project, this is a generational investment — one that demonstrates the strength of our team, the trust of our partners, and our mission to build resilient infrastructure that will support South Louisiana’s communities for decades to come.

Broussard Main Street Improvements: Progress in Motion

Revitalizing one of Broussard’s busiest corridors with infrastructure built to last.

Significant progress continues on the Broussard Main Street Improvement Project, one of Southern Constructors’ key ongoing civil infrastructure developments. This project focuses on rebuilding and modernizing critical roadway and utility systems through the heart of Broussard — improving drainage, safety, and overall traffic flow for residents and businesses. Our crews have advanced through major phases of underground utility installation, drainage upgrades, and concrete paving, maintaining productivity while minimizing community disruption. The project reflects our commitment to precision, communication, and the long-term success of the communities we help build.

In a recent project spotlight, Project Manager Beau Hebert shared updates on the ongoing progress and coordination behind the Main Street improvements. Beau emphasized the teamwork and planning required to keep such a large-scale project moving smoothly through a busy area of Broussard. “It’s a lot of moving parts — from utilities to traffic control — but our crews have done an incredible job keeping things on schedule while minimizing impact to local businesses,” he explained. His insight highlights the dedication and precision that define every phase of construction, as Southern Constructors continues to deliver results the City of Broussard can count on.

Community Engagement: Investing in People and Acadiana

Building stronger communities through opportunity, outreach, and local involvement.

This quarter, Southern Organizations continued to strengthen our community presence through career fairs, partnerships, and local sponsorships across South Louisiana. Our team connected with students and job seekers at both the University of Louisiana at Lafayette (ULL) All-Majors Career Fair and the South Louisiana Community College (SOLACC) Industrial Trades Fair, sharing opportunities across our growing divisions. These events allowed us to meet the next generation of builders, engineers, and tradesmen — reinforcing our commitment to developing local talent and keeping skilled jobs right here in Acadiana.

Proudly, 100% of our workforce lives in Acadiana, meaning the work we do directly supports the families, schools, and communities we call home. When Southern Organizations builds, Acadiana benefits — from job creation and local spending to long-term infrastructure and economic growth.

Beyond workforce development, Southern Organizations proudly supported several local golf tournaments and community events, sponsoring teams and initiatives that give back to the people who make our region strong. Each sponsorship reflects our belief that success means more than project completion — it’s about showing up, giving back, and being an active part of the communities we help build. Through outreach, engagement, and partnership, we continue to invest in both the future workforce and the neighborhoods we call home.
