Southern Constructors is proud to be on site at the Acadiana Regional Airport performing surcharge operations for the AVEX Hangar Site Development Project, a major investment that continues to position Acadiana as a growing hub for the aviation industry.

Recently announced by Louisiana Economic Development, the more than $74 million expansion will include a new 132,290-square-foot aircraft maintenance hangar, allowing Aviation Exteriors (AVEX) to significantly expand its maintenance, repair, and overhaul capabilities in New Iberia. The project is expected to create 249 new direct jobs, retain 183 existing positions, and generate hundreds of additional indirect jobs throughout the region. Construction is anticipated to be completed in 2027.
