Project Manager - Municipal Sewer & Water Division

 

Location: South Louisiana (projects vary)
Schedule: Full-time
Compensation: Competitive salary + vehicle allowance (DOE)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a proven track record in municipal sewer and water construction. The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing all phases of assigned projects — from estimating and bidding, through planning, execution, and close-out. This role requires strong leadership, technical knowledge, and the ability to coordinate with engineers, municipalities, subcontractors, and field crews.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage sewer, water, and utility infrastructure projects from start to finish.

  • Prepare project budgets, schedules, and resource plans.

  • Coordinate with city officials, inspectors, engineers, and clients to ensure compliance with municipal codes and project specifications.

  • Oversee subcontractors, suppliers, and field personnel to maintain safety, quality, and productivity.

  • Monitor project progress, control costs, and manage changes/claims.

  • Ensure all work complies with OSHA standards, environmental regulations, and local permitting requirements.

  • Prepare project documentation, RFIs, submittals, and progress reports.

  • Support a culture of safety, teamwork, and accountability.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of project management experience in heavy civil, municipal, or utility construction (sewer/water preferred).

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (preferred).

  • Strong knowledge of municipal standards, DOT specs, and utility installation practices.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and project management software (e.g., Procore, Primavera P6, MS Project, or equivalent).

  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets of $1M–$20M+.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.

  • OSHA 30 certification (or ability to obtain).

  • PE license or PMP certification is a plus.
